Employees who receive Indonesian language training perform better.

When employees improve their ability to communicate in Bahasa Indonesia, it's reported that they save an average of three or more hours per week. Generally, these wasted hours are spent resolving miscommunication problems and/or discussing translations as a result of inadequate language skills. Improved language acquisition and communication competence positively impacts workers throughout the hierarchical structure, enabling entry level employees through to senior and executive management to save time and perform better.

As employees' fluency in Bahasa Indonesia grows, they become increasingly confident and happy in their roles.

From internal communications to conversations with clients, suppliers, vendors and partners, employees feel more equipped to fulfill their responsibilities when they have a working knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia. This in turn increases their happiness levels and sense of job satisfaction.

Further, employees generally perceive language training as a desirable perk or benefit of their position.  It gives them a chance make the most of their Indonesian experience, whilst, at the same time, improving their CVs and job performance. This fosters engaged and motivated employees who appreciate their workplace.

Research shows that a good working knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia can speed up market entry by up to 75 percent.

Language is more than just 'words'; it carries with it a 'culture.' And learning Bahasa Indonesia offers employees important insights into the way that Indonesians think and a better understanding of their consumer behaviours. One only has to look at the staggering growth of Samsung in Indonesia to recognise just how important Indonesian language training can be to the success of a company doing business in the archipelago.

In-company language training gives employees an opportunity to work in pairs and small groups on task-based activities in an informal environment. Working as a team, they share the challenge of learning something new together. Language classes cut across traditional hierarchies and management structures, placing everyone from the CEO to the administrative assistants on equal footing, and giving employees from various departments an opportunity to collaborate and get to know one another.  In the language classroom, barriers are broken down and positive working relationships are forged.

And, finally, in-company language training does much to nurture positive working relationships among employees.

The direct benefits of Indonesian language training on business success are numerous, yet it's often a struggle for HR Managers and Development Specialists to quantify the value of

language training to their organisations.

Here are just a few reasons why

What can you Expect ?

THE FIRST 50 HOURS

Before an employee can begin participating in corporate meetings,
she/he must first learn the basics of the language.

In these early lessons, the basics of grammar and sentence construction are covered,
 and the employee is equipped with the "survival language" needed to get started in the workplace.

The first 50 hours lays the necessary "foundation"
for the employee to move on and begin
LEARNING BAHASA INDONESIA IN A BUSINESS CONTEXT

AT 100 HOURS

An employee is generally able to

follow the discussion of a formal meeting, provided the discussion is conducted slowly and clearly

and the employee can ask for repetition of key points.

The employee's participation will be very limited at this point.

However, with some help from others, she/he will be able to exchange information

on business matters related to her/his job function.

AT 200 HOURS

An employee is generally able to

fully understand formal and informal business discussions, and,

with support from colleagues, present her/his own opinions and respond to arguments convincingly.

At this stage, the employee will likely still have some difficulty when co-workers

use idiomatic (slang) language or do not speak clearly.

AT 300 HOURS

An employee is typically wholly proficient within her/his job function.

She/he is generally able to :

  • conduct a business meeting entirely in Bahasa Indonesia ;

  •  hold her/his own in any formal discussions of complex issues ;

  • put forth articulate and persuasive arguments, at no disadvantage to native speakers ;

  • easily keep up in any debate, even on abstract, complex unfamiliar topics ; and

  • argue a formal position convincingly, replying to questions and comments,
    and responding to arguments fluently, spontaneously and appropriately.

UPON COMPLETION OF 300 LESSON HOURS,

YOUR EMPLOYEES WILL FULFILL ALL GOVERNMENT REQUIREMENTS

FOR LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY.
