Bahasa Indonesia in 2 Minutes: "Meeting Someone"

After having learned the basics of how to introduce yourself in Bahasa Indonesia (which you can read here), we are now going to discuss what Indonesians would usually say when they meet someone for the first time,

or when they meet someone again after a long time of not seeing them.

So, here are the basic phrases that are often said in a conversation when meeting someone:

Apa kabar?

“How are you?”

Senang bertemu dengan kamu.

“Nice to meet you.”

Sudah lama tidak bertemu.

“Long time no see.”

Sudah berapa lama sejak kita terakhir bertemu?

“How long has it been since we last met?”

Want to know how you can apply these sentences in your typical conversations?
