Bahasa Indonesia Words With Dual Meaning: "Bisa"

For this week's post, we will be discussing yet another “Bahasa Indonesia words with Dual Meaning.”

We have previously already learned many other dual-meaning words such as orang tua, apel, and tinggal.

Don’t forget to read about those words if you haven’t already.

Today, we are learning about the word . . . “Bisa.”

Check out the examples below:

“Aku bisa datang ke rumah kamu besok setelah pekerjaanku selesai.”

“I can come to your house tomorrow after my work is finished.”

Bisa ular kobra sangat mematikan.“

“A cobra snake’s venom is very deadly.“

As the examples above showed, the word bisa can mean both the English words “can” and “venom.”

For both meanings, the word is spelt and pronounced in the exact same way so you will need to pay close attention to the context where it is used.

Watch the video below for more examples of contexts where you can use this word!

If you haven’t caught up already, we have also discussed the words lewat, pukul, halaman, and tahu.

Selamat berlatih!
