Bahasa Indonesia in Context - Cooking (Eps 5)

Welcome to the fifth episode of our series, ”BAHASA INDONESIA IN CONTEXT.”


Like all languages, Indonesian words and phrases can take on entirely different meanings when used in different situations. With this in mind, each video in our series demonstrates how INDONESIAN WORDS & PHRASES are used in one particular setting and provides definitions of those words and phrases when used in that specific setting.

 

IN THIS VIDEO, WE EXPLORE LANGUAGE TYPICALLY CONNECTED TO COOKING.

We join Ibu Sharine in her kitchen as she prepares a meal for her family. Before she begins cooking, we see her selecting her seasonings and oil, washing her vegetables, and cutting up food for frying. Once everything is ready, we watch as she brings some of her vegetables to a boil on the stovetop and stir-fries others in a frying pan. Finally, when everything is ready, we see her heating up food in the microwave before serving.
